"ALPS AT THEIR VERY BEST"

BETWEEN GLACIER, MOUNTAIN AND LAKE 408 KM OF PISTES INCLUDING GLACIER SKI RESORT GUARANTEE MAXIMUM ROOM TO MOVE IN ZELL AM SEE-KAPRUN

Zell am See-Kaprun is one of the most diverse winter sports regions in the Alps: the place to be for anyone who loves great downhill runs and appreciates absolute snow reliability. Glacier, mountain and lake not only form the fantastic backdrop for unforgettable winter sports days, but they are also great terrain for skiers, snowboarders, freeriders and freeskiers.

As of last year’s winter, the Ski ALPIN CARD ticket network has been connecting the three premium ski resortsof Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, Kitzsteinhorn Kaprun and Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See. Winter sports enthusiasts enjoy 408 kilometres of pistes with just one ticket. And all this in one of Austria’s most beautiful landscapes, which offers “Alps at their very best”.

THE MOUNTAIN EXPERIENCE: SCHMITTENHÖHE IS THE HUB FOR 408 KILOMETRES OF PISTES

With its variety of pistes and mountain huts, the brilliant views to Lake Zell and over 30 three-thousand-metre high mountains of the Hohe Tauern, the Schmittenhöhe is considered one of the absolute highlights of the region. Five long downhill runs, one of the longest fun-slopes in the world, the black “Trass” -a ski run with over 1,000 altitude metres, a length of over 4 km and a gradient of up to 70 per cent, night skiing and numerous winter hiking trails complement the winter sports possibilities of Zell’s local mountain.

The panorama and family ski resort boasts three accesspoints in Zell am See, including ski-in ski-out, as well as a connection to the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. With the zellamseeXpress as connecting mountain railway, the Ski ALPIN CARD has put everything on the right track.

GLACIER WITH 100% SNOW RELIABILITY: FROMKAPRUN DIRECTLY UPHILL TO THE KITZSTEINHORN

With the 3K K-onnection-the world’s most modern cable car – Kaprun, the Maiskogel family mountain and the glacier ski resort have been merged to a fascinating unit since December 2019. With ski-in ski-out directly from the centre of the village to and from the glacier, Kaprun offers a completely new quality of service and a second direct route to the glacier. The starting point of the new K-ONNECTION is the Kaprun Center – lower terminus and multifunction service centre, with a top-modern ski depot and sports shop, in one. Winter sports enthusiasts and nature lovers glide at speed through four climate zones to TOP OF SALZBURG in 3,029 metres above sea level in the eternal white of the glacier with six cable cars lined up side by side.

The newly created, longest chain of cable cars in the Eastern Alps overcomes even the greatest difference in altitude with 2,261 altitudemetres over a length of 12 kilometres. The Kitzsteinhorn offers wintersports enthusiasts wide, 100% snow-reliable glacier pistes in up to and beyond 3,000 altitude metres, freeride and ski touring routes, world-class snow parks and, with the panorama platforms National Park Gallery, Cinema 3.000 and Gipfel Restaurant – Salzburg’s highest-located restaurant, unique nature and leisure experiences.

The Maiskogel family mountain close to Kaprun impresses with its gentle, wide pistes all the way to the centre of the village. An ideal area for ski schools and beginners has been created around the Stanger terminus of the MK Maiskogel lift and the Maisi Lift.
